Pastiche Studio Day

We had an exceptionally creative day at the Diadem Studio - a blend of quick  exercises, discussion, book looking, working on individual projects, printmaking on the 'imprint' press all sustained with cups of tea.   I look forward to seeing everyone's projects further down the track!

Pastiche

Someone had to pull out due to a family bereavement so will have a place available on this fantastic day course - tomorrow!  ‎'Pastiche' - an opportunity to spend a day working on your own arts project with guidance from Maryanne Jennings and Lynn Taylor. A printing press will be onsite and the day will start with a printing demo. Later on will be discussion on getting work 'gallery ready'. Cost $30. Matiu Island

I have been invited to be part of an art research trip to Matiu (or Somes) Island in Wellington Harbour next March - with a view to participating artists making work for a September exhibition. Exciting! 
Does anyone have  any resources on this location? (So far I have sourced some envelopes from the island on a stamp collecting site - but prices are out of my reach.) 
Some interesting history - the island has served as a human and animal quarantine, an internment camp and a military defence position and then there is the sad tale of neighbouring Leper Island.
